The JAECOO J8 is equipped with a two-liter engine with a capacity of 249 hp and a maximum torque of 385 Nm. The engine reaches this figure from 1750 rpm and maintains it up to 4,000 rpm. Such good engine traction in a wide range of revolutions has a positive effect on the acceleration dynamics and, as a result, on the comfort and safety of the driver and his fellow travelers.
Efficient engine
The F4J20 engine has a high thermal efficiency of 37%, which results in low fuel consumption: for a car weighing 2 tons, consuming 8.1 liters in a combined cycle is a very good result. And this is despite the fact that the car accelerates to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds. Both figures are among the best in the class. The two-liter engine is paired with a 7DCT400 dual-clutch preselective transmission.
Permselective gearbox
When the car is moving, for example, in 3rd gear, 2nd and 4th gears are already ready to be engaged. At the moment of switching, the gearbox control unit only has to decide which gear to engage and which clutch to use. Moreover, the opening of one and the closing of the second clutch occur simultaneously, as a result of which the switching occurs practically without interruption of the power flow from the engine to the wheels in a minimum time.
The synergy of the efficient 1.6Turbo engine and CVT9 ensures excellent driving dynamics and comfort. The engine is paired with a reliable and durable gearbox, equipped with a Honeywell turbocharger and DVVT technology.
There is no room for compromise in the J8 cabin. Every detail, every element, every solution is designed to provide maximum convenience and absolute comfort that the most demanding customers expect from their car.
Continuous adaptation to current road conditions, the rate of change of shock absorber stiffness is less than 0.002 sec. At the same time, the driver can control the system by selecting one of seven driving modes or through the car settings.
The key difference between the advanced TORQUE-VECTORING all-wheel drive system and the one installed on the Active and Supreme versions is that the rear differential housing does not have one clutch that transmits torque to the rear axle, but two clutches on the half-shafts that redistribute torque to the left and right wheels independently of each other.
